Twenty-Five Years of CEFS: Strong Roots, Sustained Growth

N.C. Cooperative Extension Regional Area Specialized Agent – Local Food System
This is a time limited position (thirty-three months) funded by The Appalachian Regional Commission and the Cherokee Preservation Foundation with the goal of supporting the development and expansion of the regional food system
Program Assistant
This position will support the general Business Office work of CEFS. This position will be part of the Events Logistics Team and will participate in the logistics of all CEFS events.
Temporary Program Assistant (Part-time)
This position will specifically support a new three-year grant CEFS has just been awarded. It will be housed in the CEFS Business Office and report both to the CEFS Business Manager and the Grant Project Director.

NC Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Staff Fight Hurricane Florence Floodwaters at CEFS’ Field Research, Education and Outreach Facility
Hurricane Florence is one of the worst storms to hit North Carolina, ever. CEFS' Field Research, Education, and Outreach Facility at Cherry Research Farm is located in Goldsboro, one of the hardest-hit areas of the state. NC Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Research Station Manager Andy Meier and his crew have gone above and beyond -- as they always do in extreme situations -- to protect and care for livestock on the farm and minimize damage to crops and infrastructure.
