The Small Farm Unit completed the spring season of vegetable direct seeding and transplanting to the certified organic plot including Asian greens, radish, red carrot, Brentwood lettuce, kale, and spinach. In the two high tunnels on the certified organic side, the Unit grows Asian greens, Brentwood lettuce, and yellow bush beans. For summer vegetables, they are growing transplants in the greenhouse – cherry tomatoes (black cherry and rainbow), Asian cucumber, bitter melon, kale, and sweet pepper. They will direct seed bush beans, pole beans, okra, and others in the lower field for summer production. There will be two plots for organic flowers and one plot for organic vegetables in the fall.
