Grounded and Growing Rooted in Community. Growing our Future

Since 2007, the Center for Environmental Farming Systems (CEFS) has celebrated the bounty of North Carolina through our signature Farm to Fork Picnic. As our food system faces evolving challenges, our strategy for community engagement has also grown.

In 2026, we are moving beyond the table to bring you insider access to the science, the people and the passion that fuel our local farms. From interactive discovery at Marbles Kids Museum to deep-dive conversations with industry leaders, we invite you to join us. We are excited to introduce

Grounded and Growing: A CEFS Farm to Fork Series.

We are expanding from a single-day event to a year-long initiative, designed to bridge the gap between high-level research and community action.

Our 2026 “Discovery Season” focuses on professional/community dialogue through The Grounded Table quarterly webinar series and youth education through our partnership with the Marbles Kids Museum Agri-Kids Fest.

Net proceeds from these events benefit the Center for Environmental Farming Systems (CEFS)agriculture and food system training programs. Our community will benefit from an improved local food system and better access to healthy, local food.

Thank you and we hope to see you at one of our events, in person or online!
