Last month, Whole Foods Market selected the Center for Environmental Farming Systems (CEFS) and Piedmont Culinary Guild (PCG) as community partners for their 5% Day Community Giving Day. On October 17th, 11 participating Whole Foods Market locations across North Carolina donated 5% of their net sales to CEFS and PCG. To our wonderful volunteers and to everyone who supported the Whole Foods 5% Day with their shopping carts, we thank you! We are thrilled to announce that thanks to this initiative, Whole Foods was able to donate $35,087 to CEFS and PCG.

These funds will be invested to support beginning and local farmers through professional development programs at CEFS and to fund farmer grants at PCG.

On behalf of the teams at CEFS and PCG, we express our sincere thanks to Whole Foods Market for their partnership and generous support for our programs. We are also thankful for the work of the North Carolina Agricultural Foundation, Inc., for collecting and managing the funds.
