North Carolina Leadership and Cattle Handling for Women Producers works closely with Amazing Grazing and NC Choices‘ Women Working in the Meat Business to offer Pasture to Plate training, networking, and educational opportunities to women livestock producers, butchers, chefs, processors, and business owners.
Led by April Shaeffer, a CEFS-Affiliated Research Specialist at NC State University, the program is designed to promote self-confidence for women in the cattle industry by giving them hands-on educational opportunities and cattle handling skills.
The program was recently featured on FarmHer, a show on RFD-TV that “shares the stories of the women who live and lead in agriculture.”
