Technical Assistance Application

Interested in receiving some one-on-one consultation about your business with an outside consultant? Paste the following questions and your answers into an email, include the subject: Technical Assistance Request, and send it to sarah@ncchoices.com. Requests are for North Carolina-based inquiries only. NC Choices provides direct Technical Assistance only as far as funding and capacity allow. Applications are reviewed based on need, scope, and impact made to the local, pasture-based meat industry. As part of the TA service, NC Choices reserves the right to participate in consultation meetings. All matters are kept confidential unless otherwise stated by the client.

  • Describe who you are, your work (can be in the public or private sector), and/or your current business or aspiring business goals. Businesses can vary (farms, retailers, processors all welcome). Please keep this brief – no more than two paragraphs.
  • What kind of help do you need? What do you want to improve on or research as you grow your farm or meat business? Please limit this to 1 paragraph.
  • Do you have a consultant identified that you would like to speak with and if so, are just seeking support to cover consultation fee? (y/n).
    1. If so, please list that person’s first and last name and their contact information if you have it.
  • Are you comfortable with NC Choices staff identifying potential consultants for you to speak with?

How much time do I get with an outside technical consultant? NC Choices technical assistance support is intended to cover the cost of one hour of consultation with a private consultant. If more time and support is needed and if funding permits, a cost-share option may be explored between NC Choices, whereby the client is responsible for paying for half of the time.

If you are seeking support in the small processing sector, our partners at the Niche Meat Processor Assistance Network have a wealth of resources and technical assistance cost-share opportunities, so be sure to explore their resources and services at nichemeatprocessing.org.
