The EmPOWERing Mountain Food Systems Locals Food Coordinator will be responsible for leading and administering multiple local foods grants and programming in Western North Carolina (WNC), through established partnerships with multiple organizations throughout the region and state.
Priorities of this position include:
- Aggregation support and logistics strategies for timely and quality local food delivery;
- Localized and seasonal menu development;
- Ability to organize community food preparation classes with diverse community members;
- Ability to create written support and training materials; collaborative goal setting with diverse groups seeking to develop food councils; outreach and
- Partnership with unique food systems partners in the region including farmers, processors, aggregators, distributors, public health agencies, and NC Cooperative Extension.
