Mobile Dehydrator

Adding value and preserving produce are two ways to utilize edible but unmarketable produce and sell product beyond the fresh market. The Whole Crop Harvest project team includes faculty and students from NC State’s Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering who have developed a Mobile Dehydrator to dry, preserve and add value to produce that may otherwise remain unsold. Construction specifications and associated estimated costs will be available in the coming months.
