D’Ante Grovner

D’Ante Grovner’s internship journey started with a spark of curiosity and a passion for community engagement. As a Youth Food Ambassador affiliated with the Men and Women United for Youth and Families Food Council, D’Ante’s journey into agriculture and advocacy expanded through the Food-Inspired Resilience & Equity (FIRE) internship.

His role as the president of the Youth Ambassadors brought forth opportunities for meaningful impact. Engaging in activities such as food aggregation and farmers markets, D’Ante learned the ropes of managing produce and interacting with customers while honing essential teamwork, communication, and customer service skills. Beyond the farmers markets, D’Ante participated in conferences, summits, and rallies, gaining insights into broader regional contexts and community needs. Attending events like the North Carolina Climate Justice Collective Forum provided him with a deeper understanding of the interconnectedness of food systems and environmental justice.

D’Ante’s journey has sparked a unique fusion of interests, as he contemplates a future that marries his initial inclination towards mechanical engineering with a newfound passion for agriculture. His internship experience has cultivated skills, connections, and a profound understanding of equitable food systems, positioning D’Ante to make a meaningful impact no matter which path he chooses.
