Join us for our second collaborative day on July 24 at 1pm. The farm address is 1746 Frady Cove in Sylva. Please note: 4WD will be needed to get to the top of the mountain and shuttles can be arranged if needed. At the end of the pavement take the left fork, another left than an immediate right. Keep heading up about 1/3 of a mile.

David is a career wildland fire manager with a unique set of skills to share regarding forest management and agriculture. Sara is a healer seeking to add healing practices to the farm through massage and plant medicine.

Farm Vision

The vision for Mountain Medicine Farm is to establish a sustainable, ecosystem-integrated source of food and medicine along with a safe space for connection to Earth. We plan to sell food and medicine locally. They also plan to bring in an agritourism component through hosting individuals and groups in primitive retreat spaces designed for connection and healing in nature.

The EmPOWERing Mountain Food Systems Grant wants to support a farmer to farmer collaborative. Therefore, one of our programming goals is sustaining our efforts in the region we serve – Haywood, Jackson, Swain, Macon, Graham, Cherokee, Clay and Qualla Boundary.

We consulted an advisory board of diverse regional farmers to hear their ideas about what a farmer to farmer collaborative for the region could look like. Now, we want to hear from you. Help us figure out our pilot programming and how to implement a farmer to farmer collaborative.
