UPROOT: BIPOC Voices in Our Food System

UPROOT is a Summer Event Series that focuses on the perspectives of BIPOC Food Systems practitioners. Embracing artistic expression and community based-research, C.O.R.E’s ‘Outcome 4’ team will share findings from their research that envision opportunities for building an equitable food system.

This event series entitled UPROOT aims to inspire conversations and reflections on how we can create a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable food system while celebrating diverse BIPOC voices. 

Join us for the OPENING CEREMONY of UPROOT: BIPOC Visions of Our Food System Summer Event Series on July 13th from 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM EST in Durham, N.C.

This in-person event is free & open to the public. We encourage NC friends and families to come and celebrate the launch of this BIPOC Food and Art series. There will be food, music, art, and entertainment. There will be cultural expressions from TapRoot Culture Troupe of NC Climate Justice Collective and the Black Women’s Art Collective. Attendees may also enjoy locally sourced food from BIPOC farmers. Food will be provided for this event by The Palace International of Durham, NC.
