    This New York Times article discusses how the coronavirus crisis demonstrates what is wrong with how the world feeds itself. We need to rejuvenate local and regional food systems to reduce the vulnerabilities that come with being too reliant on imported and corporate-dominated foods.
Food Justice, Race and Equity
  • 21-Day Racial Equity Habit Building Challenge:
    Hosted by the Food Solutions New England (FSNE), participants commit to deepening their  understanding of, and willingness to confront, racism for twenty-one consecutive days. Each day you’ll receive an email “prompt” with a short reading, video or audio file. You are encouraged to take about ten to fifteen minutes each day with the material in the prompt, though we will provide extra resources in case you want to dig further into the day’s topic.
  • Committee on Racial Equity in the Food System (CORE):
    CORE is a long-term commitment to work internally and collaboratively with community and grassroots groups to address root causes of food system inequities and build collective solutions through the lens of structural racism as an entry point.   • WK Kellogg Foundation’s Racial Equity Resource Guide:
    Developed by WK Kellogg Foundation in 2010, this large directory of materials were prepared as a shared tool for building a community of connected, informed and engaged practitioners. There is also a nested tool that you can create your own specific Resource Guide tailored to specific goals within racial healing and racial equity field.
  • Building the Case for Racial Equity in the Food System:
    Written by Anthony Giancatarino, Simran Noor, and Center for Social Inclusion. This report shares an analysis of what it means to build a racially equitable food system – from field to farm to fork – and lays out steps toward achieving that goal.
