The Center for Environmental Farming Systems (CEFS) and North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (N.C. A&T) are seeking a Temporary Project Coordinator to serve the needs of the Small Farm Unit in Goldsboro, NC, in the development and delivery of research and educational programs supporting the mission of CEFS and the Cooperative Extension at N.C. A&T.
Key Responsibilities: This position will support USDA-funded projects working with farmers and community-based organizations. It could work remotely, with travel requirements to attend and support educational workshops. The workload varies from 10 to 15 hours per week, to be negotiated with qualified applicants.
The Project Coordinator supports the core mission of CEFS and Cooperative Extension which focus on one or more of the following interdisciplinary initiatives: Vegetable Productions and Management; Agribusiness, Farm Financial Analysis, and Marketing; General Horticulture, and Food Systems. The Program Coordinator is expected to work collaboratively with the project Principal Investigator, Small Farm Unit manager, as well as other partners. Close collaboration with Horticulture and Natural Resources Extension Programs is required.
Preferred Experience: Some years of commercial farming knowledge/experiences including field operations, greenhouse operations, and high tunnel operations, etc.
Primary Duties:
- Assist with producer and extension agent training for stakeholders
- Help with demonstrations and outreach to Counties
- Help assemble educational notebooks and other training related materials
