What food safety risks are present on small farms? What are the most efficient ways to mitigate those risks? What is the GAP auditing process like for small-scale producers?

This workshop will cover all these questions and more with a morning classroom component, followed by a hands-on demonstration of various food safety tools in the afternoon. Not only will participants understand the general requirements of food safety for small farms, they will also see best practices first-hand. We will cover field practices, harvesting techniques, and post-harvest handling and processing. After this workshop, it will be easy to visualize how to get your small operation GAP compliant.

The entrance to the conference center building is on Montgomery Drive.
