Visioning our Food Future
Community members in Bladen, Columbus, and Robeson counties are teaming up with a research and facilitation team from CEFS and others from NC State University to create a food system assessment and plan for the region. Over eighteen months, community members across the three counties will provide insight, information, and goals for the local food system.
The project research methods, food systems plan, and project deliverables are advised by an Advisory Committee of local organizations, community members, and businesses.
As part of this project, local farms are hosting paid apprentices through the 18-month Sustainable Vegetable Production Apprenticeship and local organizations are hosting paid interns through a 10-week summer Southeastern NC Food Systems Internship.
