The Center for Environmental Farming Systems (CEFS) is pleased to announce that the North Carolina State University (NC State) College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) has opened the search for Director of the Center for Environmental Farming Systems and W.K. Kellogg / Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina Foundation Endowed Distinguished Chair in Sustainable Community-Based Food Systems (this name is conditional on BOT approval).
CEFS is a partnership of North Carolina State University, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (N.C. A&T), and the NC Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (NCDA&CS). Ongoing multidisciplinary work at CEFS includes sustainable agriculture research and extension, career ladder development, local food supply chain development, expanding markets for local foods, engaging communities, supporting food policy council development statewide, climate change mitigation and adaptation, addressing racial equity in the food system, improving healthy food access, and improving health outcomes and food security as they relate to the food system. The Director will provide strategic leadership, direction, and vision and facilitate significant collaborative linkages with the other two core CEFS partners, N.C. A&T and NCDA&CS, along with many other non-governmental organizations (NGOs), agencies, foundations, and businesses that partner with CEFS.
