NC Volunteer Opportunities
- Volunteer at the InterFaith Food Shuttle:
Sign up to volunteer at the InterFaith Food Shuttle (IFFS) Teaching Farm, Camden Street Garden, the Warehouse or other food security related opportunities in Raleigh. - Volunteer at the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina:
Sign up to volunteer a shift at one of the various centers near you in Raleigh, Sandhills, Wilmington, Durham, Greenville, or New Bern.

Virtual Volunteer Opportunities
- Grant Writer: Community Educational Farm with Wildwoods Community Farm:
VIRTUAL volunteer opportunity to help to research and write grants for a community educational farm - COVID-19: How to help Triangle area causes:
Includes both VIRTUAL and in person volunteer opportunities. Many of these opportunities revolve around improving food access and distribution.
- Operation Senior Smiles:
Create handmade cards that include poems, positive messages, a drawing, etc. Once your card(s) are done send them to The Center for Volunteer Caregiving. This organization is offering grocery shopping and pickup/delivery services for adults aged 60+ in Wake County, and the cards will be distributed with the groceries.

- Central and Eastern North Carolina Food Bank: Virtual Food Drive:
Participate in the Food Bank’s Virtual Food Drive and maximize your donation times ten! For every dollar donated, the Food Bank can provide $10.00 worth of food or five meals.
- Inter-Faith Food Shuttle (Raleigh):

- A Helping Hand (Durham):
A Helping Hand provides support to senior citizens, especially those with disabilities. The group is collecting canned food, non-perishables, household goods and cleaning supplies to distribute to senior citizens. You can donate online to support this effort.
- A Place at the Table: (Raleigh):
A Place at the Table, a cafe located in downtown Raleigh, allows customers to pay what they can afford. They are currently seeing increased demand, serving more than 200 meals per day to those who are hungry and unable to pay. The cafe is open for curbside service Wednesday through Sunday for breakfast and lunch. Learn more about A Place at the Table and make a donation to support their efforts on their website.

Food justice is racial justice. Food and agriculture, like everything in this country, are deeply intertwined with our nation’s entrenched history of slavery and structural racism. Our food system actively silences, marginalizes, and disproportionately impacts people of color, who are also being hardest hit by COVID-19.
- Farmer Relief Fund:
American Farmland Trust’s Farmer Relief Fund will award farmers with cash grants of up to $1,000 each to help them weather the current storm of market disruptions caused by the coronavirus crisis. - Support These 50+ Organizations Helping Restaurants, Workers, and Farmers Survive COVID-19:
These organizations are welcoming donations of food, money, and volunteer hours to aid restaurants, service workers, farmers, and people going hungry during the COVID-19 pandemic.

- “Where to Buy Local While Social Distancing: On-Farm Pickups & More!”:
by the Carolina Farm Stewardship Association. More than 160 farms across North and South Carolina have added on-farm pickups, home delivery & online pre-orders to accommodate for social distancing in light of the COVID-19 outbreak. Check out this interactive Google Map for farm locations near you
