Designing a Food Forest for Your Backyard

Join us and a panel of agroecology and permaculture experts to learn about food forests and design ideas for a small backyard space.
We will take a look at the newly planted Perennial Food Forest at the Agroecology Education Farm and learn about edible and beneficial plantings for different forest guilds. Led by experts from NC State’s Agroecology Education Farm: Daniel Holloman, Assistant Farm Manager and Dr. Michelle Schroeder-Moreno, Agroecology Education Farm Director and Interim Co-Director of the Center for Environmental Farming Systems, with special guest, Dr. Anne Spafford, Permaculture and Landscape Design Professor in the Department of Horticulture, who will share resources, discussion, and permaculture techniques to help bring a perennial food forest to your backyard!
