Hurricane Helene Updates and Resources from CEFS and Our Partners

Many of our Center for Environmental Farming Systems (CEFS) initiatives have been working in Western North Carolina for many years, and we are devastated by the impacts of Hurricane Helene on the agricultural and food systems of these beautiful mountain communities. In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, CEFS is connecting with farmers and community members in the region and collaborating with our partners to best support those we serve in both the short and long term. We will continue to share more information here and on social media as our plans develop. In the meantime, we hope the following resources and updates from our initiatives, research units, and partners will be helpful for farmers and other community members in Western North Carolina.

We recognize that many in Western NC are currently without power and wifi and online resources are difficult to access. In addition to these resources, we are working with our CEFS team members and partners on the ground to provide more direct support. We are here for the long term to help Western NC recover and rebuild.
