Echoes of the In-Between: A Healing Space for Our Food System
CORE facilitates conversations needed to make equitable changes in our food system. We understand that innovative practices may be key to inspiring the impactful change that we envision. Our monthly Community of Practice and Level I & Level II Learning Opportunities have become a foundational space for community conversations that foster growth and healing in participants around social, cultural, and institutional dimensions.
In our work, we honor Indigenous and cultural practices as a commitment to the communities and the land that nourishes our food system and supports our wellness. In working with communities that honor an ancestral legacy of sustainability, we find value in healing our connections with the land, in our communities, and within ourselves. In our programming, we aspire to bring forth more opportunities to heal our communities within the food system.
UPROOT: BIPOC Visions of Our Food System hosted Center Street Community’s Echoes of the In-Between Sound Bath experiences led by Imane El Ghazouani, with musical stylings from Tuesday Villane in Greensboro & Durham, NC. Participants took part in a traditional cacao ceremony and an immersive, artfully-infused sound and vibrational healing session within a communal space.
