SUMMARY:2026 Paid Agricultural Experiential Learning Program for K-14 Teachers
DESCRIPTION:Please apply to join us in supporting NC full-time K-14 teachers\, staff\, and administrators (must be full-time employees with school districts) to engage in a 3-day innovative agricultural experiential learning program. This training is open to all disciplines. Each group will consist of approximately 15 participants. \nProgram Dates: April 17-19 (group 1) and April 24-26 (group 2) \nThe program is funded by the USDA Professional Development for Agricultural Literacy (PDAL) Program and led by Dr. Kathleen Liang at NCA&T\, offering new knowledge and skills to participants in a dynamic agri-food system interface to enhance everyone’s ability and capacity to develop exciting new curricula/activities for our students. Compensation will be provided to each participant when eligible. The application deadline is January 31\, 2026.\n\nThe training will be held the NC. A&T University Farm and Farm Pavilion\, located at 3020 McConnell Rd\, Greensboro\, NC 27401. Application is FREE\, and grant funds will cover Lodging (Lodging will be authorized only for overnight travel 35 miles or more from your home location to NC A&T University Farm/Farm Pavilion\, and the lodging location will be forthcoming)\, Meals\, Materials\, and Training supplies. SUMMARY:Twilight Farms Tours - Ten Acre Farms
DESCRIPTION:Join EMFS\, and the Haywood Community College Small Business Center as we meet two Haywood farmers with Unique Market and Production Practices. \nPlease note that farm tours are open only to owners of currently operating farms. Space is limited\, and pre-registration is required. \n\nTour One – Ten Acre Farm\nThe Ten Acre Garden offers visitors the chance to dive deep into a farm experience\, offering u-pick experiences from strawberries & blackberries to asparagus & rhubarb to cut flowers & dahlias. The crew hosts on-farm events to increase farm income and traffic to the farm\, creating family memories from farm to brick oven pizzas with live music weekly to classes on anything from goat yoga and community yoga to papermaking and cyanotype printing and so much more. Come learn how this team diversifies from income from their farm stand to agritourism\, creating a viable farming operation. \nDETAILS\n\nThe farm tour of Ten Acre Farm takes place 5:30 to 7:00 PM.\nThere is no charge for the farm visit.\nLimited space; register early!\n\nSpecial Note: The address will be shared with you once you register.

SUMMARY:March SERV Safe: Food Safety Manager's Course & Exam EBCI County
DESCRIPTION:This program is for foodservice managers and supervisory staff in any foodservice establishment. \n\n\n\n\nJoin instructor\, Kimberly Terrell\, Family and Consumer Science Agent with the Macon County Cooperative Extension Office\, as she teaches the SERV Safe course and facilitates the SERV Safe exam at the EBCI Extension. (Ginger Lynn Welch Complex\, 810 Acquoni Rd. Cherokee\, NC 28719) \nSeating is limited. \nClass begins at 9 a.m. and lunch will be provided. Exam will begin around 3:00 p.m. \nBooks can be picked up at the EBCI Cooperative Extension office. We will notify when ready for pickup. \n* Certification is based on passing the SERV Safe exam and satisfies the North Carolina food code requirement for a certified food protection person in charge. \nThis is a one-day review class with the written exam offered at the end of the review. It is important to study before the review session. Items to bring with you the day of the class:  \n* SERV Safe book and answer sheet (bubble sheet)  \n* No.2 pencil with eraser  \n* Water and snacks  \n* Picture ID \nBooks are available to be picked up a week before the class so that you can be studying.
